Think we could all learn from this ...

10 Keys to Kevin Anderson's Success:Having been privleged to work with Kevin and his amazing team now for 3 years, I have been fortunate enough to spend time with a player that is disciplined, passionate, humble and respectful. Someone who does not possess the ‘natural abilties’ of some, but has a work ethic that is way above many. This is where I have so much respect for. On Sunday, Kevin reached the US Open final where he lost to 16x Grand Slam Champion, Rafael Nadal. Kevin has a great team behind him. Something every great player will make sure of - Getting the right people on board first. He also has stability in his life with wife Kelsey. Kevin was the lowest-seeded player in US Open history to reach the singles final. He was also the sixth man in the Open Era to reach the US Open singles final from outside the Top 16 seeds.Below I’ve listed 10 things I feel have been key to his success:1. Kevin is 100% invested in the process and journey. He’s open to feedback and is coachable. He listens and takes it all in.2. He's a scholar of the sport. He provides his team with helpful and useful feedback. I almost like to compare it to a formula 1 race car driver giving his team of mechanics information on how to get the car better, faster and more reliable. He also surrounds himself with a team who understand their roles, have no ego's and provide consistent, effective and clear communication amongst each other.3. Is highly disciplined in his daily lifestyle. He takes care of the small details, committed to executing the ‘basics’ like getting right amount of sleep, nutrition, naps, etc..4. Has developed world class routines & habits in his game and life. From sun up to sun down.5. Has the ability to handle, embrace and enjoy repetition. He always has purpose to every ball.6. Loves loves loves to practice, not only compete. He practices the way he plays (including his mindset, self talk and routines).7. He Stays incredibly positive and optimistic no matter what the score (even in the final game and match point down against Rafa in the US Open final he was still pumping his fist and saying “come on!” He understands that it’s never over and makes his opponent play and earn it.8. Does all his warm ups and cool downs meticulously. (Even straight after his final against Rafa Nadal in the US Open on Sunday he still went through his usual post stretch, post recovery shake and cool down routine.9. Wants to know the ‘WHY' behind everything. Not in a disrespectful way, but in a curious and deeply interested way.10. Not satisfied with ‘good’. He wants the great. He wants (and demands) the best from himself and his team EVERYDAY.Most of all, Kevin has no ego. In fact, even on the morning of the final, he asked his team if he could get them breakfast! Willing to go out of the hotel and get it himself. One last really important note here, especially for all the young athletes out there: The above 10 points I listed require ZERO talent and are all CONTROLLABLES!This is #ChampionMinded🏆
